Week One

I read Michael Rosenblum's article, Disposable Society, on Huffington Post regarding his MacBook Pro and his 1912 Underwood. After a "battery expansion" his MacBook Pro is now dead and irreparable while his 100+ year old typewriter still works great. Both are considered obsolete technology, the laptop because it's older than 5 years old and the typewriter because it's a typewriter. I find this amusing because I have a MacBook Pro that needs to be replaced and I have several typewriters that could be used in a pinch if the internet or my computer went down and  I had to get the paper to a professor.
